Chao Phraya River

These images were taken along the Chao Phraya River as it twists its way through Bangkok. Thailand had been experiencing devastating flooding for months and just weeks, if not days, before I arrived… the waters receded. You can easily see the damage left behind in these photos. As I traveled North through the heart of the country to some of the hardest hit areas, I was happy to see how quickly life was returning to normal.
Memories of Thailand
by Joe Leavitt on January 29, 2012 in All, Other with No Comments
Over the years I’ve seen many pictures of temples and monks from an ancient kingdom, which today is know as Thailand. Even though as I write, the trip to this beautiful country is still fresh in my mind, the old images are mixing into my thoughts and affecting my “Memories of Thailand”. I’ve been lucky enough to experience it’s wonders first hand, but Thailand will always be a far off ancient kingdom to me.

Being a Las Vegas Native, I’ve definitely photographed my share of hotels and casinos over the years. Sometimes it’s strange to see how the ornate and elaborate building along the Strip which fascinate so many people, seem commonplace and ordinary to me. Now I find myself looking beyond the glitz and I hope you enjoy what I’ve found.
